SAFW A/W15 - Elli-Nicole/Ilan/ERRE

After the sandstorm descended on Johannesburg on Day Two of SA Fashion Week, the evening had to be postponed.  But the following evening it was back to normal and we kicked off with a composite show, showcasing three designers with particular colour preferences and design ideas but with complimentary design philosophies.

Elli-Nicole was first out on the runway.  Her Autumn/Winter Collection stuck to the current trend of black and white.  Proportions were slightly oversized (a trend that seems to be coming to the fore this season) and her fabric choice played with lace, leather and sheers in various combinations.

Ilan : The muted palate continued, this time with touches of autumnal burnt orange and fabrics printed with designs created by Ilan himself.  Entitled "The Modern Storyteller" this collection was inspired by the contrast of the masculine and the feminine, evident in the juxtapositioning of leather and lace or leather and sheer.

ERRE took the masculine and feminine element one step further and continued to broaden their design philosophy which aims at giving women a new form of 'power dressing'.  The strong use of their signature black leather in oversized items reflected their idea of portraying powerful women dressing in a masculine way in order to compete with men in the workplace.  We loved this collection - it was one of the evening's highlights.
