AFICIONADO POP-UP BAR - Sandton Eye, Johannesburg

We had a great time at the Aficionado Pop-Up Bar launch party and then decided to try some of their awesome cocktails on a subsequent visit. Sadly, the bar only runs until the 28th November (a real pity!) - we really loved trying some of these fun cocktails.

Aficionado Pop-Up Bar is home to Ron Zacapa rum, the world's best-tasting rum. Ron Zacapa rum comes from Guatemala and is aged at an altitude of 2300 metres above sea-level in 'The House Above The Clouds' which gives it its unique taste. We particularly loved the petate band on each bottle. Each of these bands is hand-woven in ancient Mayan tradition by a group of women from Guatemala.

In addition to the excellent rum, we were also treated to cocktails made with Vodka, Tequila and Gin. These barmen really had their way with us...
