STUTTAFORDS RELAUNCH The Mall - Rosebank - Johannesburg

The Mall in Rosebank has long been regarded as the "tired old sister" of Johannesburg shopping centres.  It always seemed to lack the polish of Hyde Park or the "trendy" association Sandton City currently enjoys.  That was then but this is now. With a major facelift underway the new look Rosebank Mall is starting to take shape and we attended the latest in a series of revamps - this time the relaunch of Stuttafords.

Considering the event was being held in the afternoon, it was surprising that over 500 celebrities, media personalities and fashionistas took leave from their busy schedules and turned up en mass to see what the fuss was all about and we were there to see who attended and what they were wearing.

Here we are arriving, Alan in Topman and Krishen wearing Zara

Some famous faces (from left): Shashi Naidoo, Tamara Dey and Suzaan Heyns
added a bit of glamour. Lorinda Voges (far right) and her 4Elements team
rose to the occasion superbly, pulling off the relaunch in great style

(Clockwise from above): fashion doyenne, Jenny Andrew,
Elle magazine's Sheena Bagshawe
and blogger Irina Domanchuk were part of the fashionista set
Trend analyst Nicola Cooper (left) showed off her new red-hot hairstyle
(which we LOVE by the way)
while Topshop/Topman stylists Cyrus Zorkot
and Juanita Van Zyl were wearing the best their brand has to offer

It was no surprise to see Jen Su in attendance (left) - she is often dressed by
Ted Baker (one of the many brands stocked by Stuttafords) while
Sinazo Yolwa and Zakeeya Patel (right) opted for colourful spring florals

Former ANN7 presenters, Sheena Deepnarain and Lauren Vankeirsbilck
didn't seem to mind being interrupted while interviewing Tamara Dey
for their new EliteTV channel

South African celebs rocking international trends!
We loved this look on Zuraida Jardine - from the Kate Moss Topshop range

Female fashion put its best foot forward, with a profusion of patterns, textures and colours
(as seen above and below)

And not forgetting the fashion forward men ...

These guys proved what we've been saying for ages: fashion is no longer only the domain of women.
We still love coloured pants and one can never go wrong with a well-fitted blazer and pocket square

And here we are, being asked by Star Gist our opinion on the
most fashionable looks of the day.
We loved these...

Best Dressed Woman:
We loved this brave combination of the revealing black fabric paired
with a fashion-forward asymmetrical coat with over-sized
collar - an altogether modern and cutting-edge look!

Best Dressed Man:
We like the idea that this look broke the rules so many men conform to:
jackets don't need to be plain,
shoes don't need to coordinate with trousers,
accessories can be bold and eye-catching
