BANANA REPUBLIC LAUNCH - Sandton City - Johannesburg

We were thrilled to hear that Banana Republic was launching a stand-alone store in Sandton City. Even though the limited range was previously available at Stuttafords, we did not have the privilege of a full collection. In addition to the lovely, spacious store design we were treated to a refreshing range of apparel from Banana Republic. Locals are increasingly being exposed to labels which were previously difficult to attain; we see this as a positive fashion development and will certainly be frequenting the store!

For this event, Krishen wore a Laduma Maxhosa sweater
and Alan chose Markham (with a touch of Louis Vuitton)

One more event and we'll be regulars on Star Gist: offering our usual thoughts on the launch and the fashion

Elle's Sheena Bagshawe and Megan Ralf
went the casual route which was fitting for a morning event

Bumping into a dapper favourite: Simba Mhere
Simba and Michaella Russell were surprised to hear
that we do most of our shopping in the Kid's Section!

We loved the fabric of this jacket, but alas,
even the small is too big!

Strictly Come Dancing must be rubbing off on LeAnne Dlamini -
she didn't miss a beat wearing Banana Republic, styled by fashion blogger Thithi Nteta
Seen with Michaella Russell (also in Banana Republic)

We loved the Black & White combinations: clearly a hit this season
Throw in some pattern to stir it up a bit as these lovely ladies did

Sheena Deepnarain was thrilled that we didn't interrupt her EliteTV interview
at this event the way we did last time! No bells around sadly.

Always great to socialise with familiar faces such as Lauren Vankeirsbilck
and Kevin McLennan in Topman
(we loved the shade of olive green on Kevin
who surprised us by not wearing his customary black)

Discussing our mutual fondness for Diana Vreeland with Marie Claire editor,
Aspasia Karras

Trend Men: spotted with Garth Long, Christopher Jaftha and Kevin McLennan

The lady who makes it all possible: Lorinda Voges from 4Elements

Best Dressed Man:
Simba Mhere effortlessly pulled together this look by Carducci
The details added texture: striped tie,
paisley pocket square and flower lapel pin
made his suit sparkle

Best Dressed Woman:
Horizontal striped dress paired with geometric print shoes in magnificent tandem;
the pop of colour in the clutch created an altogether pleasing effect
